Aklan SMEs to showcase products

KALIBO, Aklan, Sept 21 (PIA) -- Twenty-eight small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are set to showcase their latest innovative and enhanced fashion wearables like piña and abaca blouses, tops and scarves in this year’s Aklan Product Expo on October 22 to 28 at the Event Center of SM City Iloilo.

The event, to be spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Hugod Aklanon Producers Association Inc. and the provincial government of Aklan, in partnership with Philexport Aklan Chapter, will also be an opportunity to showcase enhanced macramé table tops and tote bags, nito and bamboo housewares and furnishings made in Aklan, DTI-Aklan Provincial Director Diosdado P. Cadena Jr. said.

Processed foods such as meat and bakery products will also be available in the showcase as well as tourism-oriented products and services.

Majority of the showcasing SMEs are members of Philexport, Cadena said.

“This yearly Aklan Product Expo regularly held at SM City Iloilo is one marketing event looked forward to by Aklan’s SMEs to pave the way for better product promotion and to gain potential clients in Iloilo and other areas in the region”, Cadena said. (JCM/VGV-PIA6 Aklan)
