CAAP sets exam for air traffic service course

Manila (14 January) -- The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) will conduct a competitive examination to interested applicants for the 3rd Comprehensive Air Traffic Service Course to be held at the Manila Civil Aviation Training Center in Pasay City.

Successful applicants who passed the competitive examination as well as the interview and medical/physical examination will be trained by the CAAP at no cost, however, there will be no allowance or other form of compensation during the training period.

According to CAAP, graduates of the course will qualify for the position of Air Traffic Controller.

Applicants must not be more than 26 years old on the day of the examination; must be of good health; holder of a Baccalaureate degree, preferably EE, ECE or Computer Engineering graduate; must be computer literate; and preferably Career Service-Professional or RA 1080.

Here in Western Visayas, the examination will be administered in Iloilo and Kalibo on January 30, 2010.

Interested parties should submit the required documents not later than 5:00 p.m. of January 25, 2010 to the HRD, CAAP Iloilo Airport, Cabatuan, Iloilo.

These requirements are the following: copy of college diploma/transcript of records; Civil Service Eligibility/RA 1080 Rating; Birth Certificate; police clearance; barangay clearance; NBI clearance; and medical clearance together with the duly filled-up application form.

Application forms can be obtained at the HRD, CAAP Iloilo Airport or from the Personnel Section and ATS Unit of the satellite airports in Bacolod, Caticlan, Kalibo, Roxas and Antique.
