KALIBO, Aklan, Dec. 17 (PIA) -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) here is sustaining its monitoring of supplies and prices of Noche Buena products.

DTI-Aklan Provincial Director Diosdado P. Cadena, Jr. said their monitoring activities are conducted on a daily basis.

"So far in our monitoring activities in the municipality of Kalibo, we have not found any establishment violating the stipulated Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs)," Cadena said.

Cadena said they are also conducting monitoring activities in Boracay Island to see if the business establishments there are adhering to SRPs in selling their products.

In shopping for manufactured goods for Christmas, Cadena also called on Aklanons to be careful when buying.

"Don't be carried away by low prices, also consider the quality of the products," Cadena said.

Meanwhile, DTI-Aklan's monitoring of the sale of Christmas lights also yielded no violators.

Cadena said even perennial violator-establishments in the past years are now following the DTI's directive of selling only Christmas lights with the International Commodity Clearance (ICC) stickers attached on the products. (JSC/VGV-PIA 6 Aklan)
