KALIBO, Aklan, June 28 (PIA) -- An enhanced small and medium enterprise caravan will be held here by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Aklan Provincial Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development (PMSMED) Council on July 18-20 at the Ati-atihan Festival Hostel and Conference Center, Kalibo.

According to DTI-Aklan Provincial Director Diosdado Cadena Jr. the activity is in celebration of the National Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Week, which is expected to gather a hundred or more Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the province.

Cadena said the three-day caravan will cover activities like the Entrepreneurs’ Forum on July 18, Seminar on Effective Trade Center/SME Showroom Management and Visual Merchandising on July 19 and Consultancy on Food Packaging and Labeling, Skills Demonstration on Advanced Beadworks and Seminar on Wealth Management on July 20.

The Entrepreneurs’ Forum will be a venue for exchange of useful information to MSMEs on the programs and services offered by the Aklan PMSMED Council members to entrepreneurs wherein advisory sessions and one-on-one consultation with MSME participants will be conducted.

For the rest of the activities, speakers and lecturers would be coming from the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Cottage Industry Technology Center (CITC) and the International Marketing Group.

Aimed at establishing an enabling environment for business that could be accessed by the MSMEs, participants to the caravan can choose what topic to attend to during the simultaneous workshop session.

“Learnings from these consultations, lectures and workshops will enhance their capabilities in managing their business,” Director Cadena said. (JCM/VGV/DTI-PIA6 Aklan)
