Josefa Navarro, a 4-1 student of Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School won first place in the Cooking Main Dish Contest during the 1989 Future Farmers of the Philippines - Future Homemakers of the Philippines Provincial Work Conference held at Dingle, Iloilo on Aug. 30.

Navarro's entry in the Cooking Main Dish with Table Setting Contest was "Chicken Costa Brava."

Her winning the contest earned for her the chance to represent the province in the Regional Level in the coming Regional FFP-FAHP Work Conference which will be held in Washington, Aklan on Oct. 2.

The Conference which was hosted by the Dingle Agricultural and Technical College was attended by 17 delegations coming from various schools in the province of Iloilo.

The School's delegation was composed of seven students from the FAHP school chapter and five from the FFP. With them were the two delegation advisers, Virginia Carcel, Home Economics teacher and Catalina T. Lapastora, Agriculture teacher.

The students who attended the conference were: Josefa Navarro, Jeannie Rose Leysa, Mary Ann Marquez, Giovanni Jardiolin, Joefer Occeno, Nieves Burao, Caridad Jardiolin, of the FFP; Jay Pueyo, Niera Guidoriagao, Ruby Umadhay, Rex Velarde Jr. and Francisco Gonzaga III of the FFP.

The theme of the conference was "Contributing to Manpower Development for Industrialization."
