Cabatuan, Iloilo (Sept. 18) - Fedelene Joy Cawagas, a 2nd Year (Descartes) student of Cabatuan NCHS, won First Place in Declamation (English Category) during the Cabatuan Municipal Meet 2010 Literary-Musical Contests. The event was held at Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School (CNCHS) on Saturday, September 18, 2010. She bested 5 other contestants - 3 from CNCHS, 1 from Tiring National High School, and 1 from Ambrosio Maido Memorial High School. Fedelene is the daughter of Jhun Cawagas and Elena Pugon Cawagas of Janiuay, Iloilo. The youngest of four siblings, her two eldest brothers are graduates of Cabatuan NCHS while the third brother is currently studying at the same school. A multi-talented individual, Fed graduated Valedictorian from Janiuay Pilot Elementary School in 2009. She also received awards as the Best in Mathematics, English, Declamation, Dancing, Journalism, Leadership, Filipino, as well as Best in co-curricular activities during her elementary graduation. Her piece at the 2010 Cabatuan Municipal Meet, Switch of Luck, is a story of a girl who went with the Philippine Gymnastics Team to London. While she was at the restroom, she met a weird girl who had the same get up with hers except for the black bolero the girl was wearing. (Marian was said to be her name.) Marian gave her the black bolero. She quickly wore it and went out, not knowing the bolero has a logo of a Famous Teen Reality Show. This caused the security to mistake her as the Reality Teen Show Grand Champion. she was taken to different places, and met a talent manager, and a director, but fortunately she was brought to a hall where she was interviewed and finally, she told everyone, that she wasn't Marian, the grand champion, but Fedelene, a girl who was there for the international competition. The press were surprised, but before she realized it, she was again back at the airport with her mom. Her mom gave her a black bolero, which was said to be given by a Reality Teen show Big winner who gave out souvenirs at the airport! ! was that a day dream? or did it really happen? |
