32 THE GLOW MARCH 1993 aspects of athletic competitions, we, the Seniors, captured 34 gold medals to clinch the general championship ofthe 1992 Intra­murals held on September 1-2,1992. Dur­ing the two-day competition, we domi­nated the boys basketball through the prow­ess of Richfield Alag and unstoppable rebound of Amel Monares. The tandem of Rosalie Pancrudo and Gertjie Alcayaga faced their opponents hands down in table tennis. Nelson Oresco, the woodpusher of the Seniors, moved his team to victory by defeating all his opponents in chess. We also asserted our superiority in boys vol­leyball, girls softball and boys athletics. Jonathan Maido was declared highest indi­vidual pointer for boys having garnered three gold medals. Rosela Cornago was adjudged "Miss Intramurals '92" during the beauty tilt, aside from winning the Best in Talent and Best in Interview awards. Our other bet during the Search for Miss Intrams '92, Jane Romallosa was pinned with Best in Casual Wear and Best in Sports Wear sash and she was adjudged first runner-up. During the FFP-FAHP-VLP Techno Club Chapter Week Celebration, Ariel Moralba was adjudged second and third in identification oftnedicinal plants and pub­lic speaking respectively. Lorellee Leyso was second in public speaking. Plebiscito Alfaro placed first, second and third in identification of seedlings, compounding feed ration and identification of weeds, respectively. Mary Christine Gil bested other contestants in flower arrangement and frameless decor making contests. John Montalbo and Ariel Moralba rep? resenting the FFP of CNCHS and Aliens Calero of the FAHP attended the Provin­cial FFP-FAHP-VLP and Techno Club skills contest held in Dumangas Polytech­nic College, Dumangas, Iloilo. Moralba ranked fifth in public speaking. In October, during the 16th Regional Work Conference of the FFP and FAHP held in Batad Polytechnic College, Pereg­rine Biana bested other contestants in draft­ing. Plebiscito Alfaro copped the eighth place in fertilizer computation contest., During the local Science Fair, John Montalbo emerged first place in compose while Emil Pedrola came out second in Quiz Bee. Still, in October, five senior students pitted their beauty and talent against other bets during the Search for Miss UN '92. They were Estrella Alag, Mae Dy, Mary Christine Gil, Rachel Palmes and Paulyn Regondon. Mary Christine Gil bagged the title of Miss UN '92. Aside from winning the title, she bagged three special awards,-Best in National Costume, Best in Summer Wear and Best in Casual Wear. Mae Dy won the Best in Talent award and was adjudged first runner up. Rachel Palmes and Paulyn Regondon were second and fourth runners-up, respectively. The Regional Secondary Schools Press Conference held in Passi Trade School gave chance for our top journalists to prove their journalistic abilities. Once again, our class placed the school in the limelight when Melita Mayormente topped the Eng­lish newswriting contest. Ariel Moralba, the associate editor of the school paper, placed fifth in English photojournalism while Mae Cyrene Doregios, the feature editor, ranked seventh in Filipino copyreading and headline writing. Mary Christine Gil, the editor-in-chief, placed seventh during the Search for Miss RSSPC. Our girl scouts, Mary Christine Gil, Jane Romallosa, Rosela Cornago, and Ivy Clamucha garnered several awards during the Girl Scouts Encampment in Camp Pasica, Dingle, Iloilo. The awards included the Most Outstanding Contingent, Most Punctual and Most Disciplined Group. Gertjie Alcayaga, Plebiscito Alfaro, Mae Dy, Estrella Alag and Lorellee Leyso at­tended the National Students' Conference Western Visayan Area held at the YMCA sponsoredby YMCA Iloilo and Rizal Youth Training Institute Alumni Association last December-26-30,1992. In the said confab, many contests were conducted. Plebiscito Alfaro wielded his pen to capture third place in essay writing contest. Gertjie Alcayaga was adjudged third runner-up during the Search for Miss YMCA. Ariel Moralba, Melita Mayormente and Mae Cyrene Doregios attended the Na­tional Secondary Schools Press Confer­ence in Rizal High School in Pasig, Metro Manila. Rosela Alag, Lorellee Leyso, Mae Dy and Ivy Clamucha attended the Regional Junior and Senior Encampment held at Camp Marina, Cebu City. This is our story, the history of class '93, a class with glorious past, inspiring present and promising future.
