4 Tke%W MARCH 1998 0 , Baldeviso to inspire .1 honorees NONITO BALDEVISO Nonito S. Baldeviso, president and chief executive officer of Mercantile Credit Resource Corp., Buenavista CATV Inc., RM Canjan Ent., and Cabatuan Cable Ventures Inc. will deliver an inspirational message during the Recognition Program of the school on` March 26. This Certified Public Accountant is an alumnus of the school having graduated in 1971. He finished his elementary education at Cabatuan Central Elementary School in 1967. For his college education, he obtained the degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting in 1976. He passed the Board Examination for Certified Public Accountant in 1991. Baldeviso has gone up the ladder of success since he started as bookkeeper of Metrobank in 1977 to 1978. He transferred to Cocobank as Loans Processor in 1979 to 1980. He was promoted staff assistant in 1981; management trainee in 1982; cashier, 1983; branch manager, 1984; asst. :manager, 1985 and officer-in-charge in 1986. In recognition of his intelligence and competence, he was again promoted as manager of Cocobank in 1987; account officer, 1988; senior manager, 1989 and asst. vice president in 1994. He retired from service in 1996 and-became an entrepreneur. At present, he is holding,positions in partly owned corporations or partnerships. He is,president and chief executive officer of Mercantile Credit Resources Corp., a financing company with branches in Iloilo City and San Jose, Antique; Buenavista CATV Inc., cable TV operator for the province of Antique; RM Canjan Ent., exclusive distributor for Panay Island of San Miguel Foods Inc., Magnolia Chicken Products; Cabatuan Cable Ventures Inc., cable TV operator in Cabatuan, Iloilo. This 42 year old Certified Public Accountant is also chairman of the Board of Iloilo South-Coast Lending Corporation. He is also Director of Britt Industrial Development Corp.; Madiaas (Iloilo) Lending Corporation; and Iloilo Group Ventures, Inc., operator of 'El Paso Grill and Restaurant." He is also an agent for UCPB General Insurance Co. Inc. and Cocolife. Because of his entrepreneurship, he has provided employment for over 200 Cabatuananons in his various business and professional interests. He is married to the former Dolores Tobias. Six teachers of the school attended the 2-week live-in Hands On Computer Training at the Regional Learning Resource Center of DECS Region VI. Three teachers from the English Department were trained on Feb. 2-14. They are Miss Ninfa Dio, Mrs. Rosario Hualde and Mrs. Eppie M. Talamor. Three Science teachers attended the training on March 2-14. They are Mr. Noel Catolin, Mr. Rodrigo Tacay and Mr. Alfredo Garbing. For Excellence Top graduates in class to receive medals For the first time in the history of the Recognition Program, the top three graduating students of each class will receive medals. The top three students in each of the 13 sections in the fourth year class will be based on their academic performance for the school year 1997-1998. The average grade will be the, primary basis for as long as the student does not have a grade in any subject lower than 80%. The awardees are: 4-A (Special Science class) Jorge Aborde, Arniel Malaga, Cherry Marie Rute; 4-1 Arnel Pelonia, Alain Resano, Cheryl Roncal; 4-2 Ramilie Ortega, Ma. Therese Chan, Rommel Velarde; 4-3 Ismael Moscardon Cherry May Berbegal, Sharon Padilla and ~(To page 13) Four Math teachers will have their training on April 13-25. The last batch will be the THE teachers of the school on May 25 to June 6. The training is in line with DECS modernization program. The program includes this fifteen batch live-in computer training scheduled on December 8, 1997 to July 8, 1998 at the RELC, Duran .Street, Iloilo City. The 15 batches of participants include?
