MARCH 1998 % CROW 9 Alumni homecoming activities announced The sixth General Alumni Homecoming of the school will definitely be held on April 11-12, 1998. This was learned from Mr. Victor S. Maroma, president of the Alumni Association. On April 11, Black Saturday, Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. At 10:00 a.m. first canvassing of the Search for Alumni Muse '98 will be held. The election of officers of the association will be held at 2:00 p.m. A meeting of newly elected officers will immediately follow. The second canvassing of the search for Alumni Muse'98 will be at 4:00 p.m. of the same day. Mayor activities of the homecoming will be held on April 12, Easter Sunday. Two awardees receive a cash award and a plaque of recognition for having been chosen, as the school teacher/ employee with most outstanding performance during the school year 1997­1998. Mrs. Ofelia Subade, administrative officer 11 and Mrs. Visluzminda Catedral, agriculture teacher of the school received the cash award, and plaque of recognition given by Engr. and Mrs. Martin de la Rosa Jr.Mr. Rey B. Vencer, the school administrator gave the awards in behalf of the donors during the commencement program on March 27. 1-or 12 years, Lngr. Martin L. de la Rosa Jr., an alumnus of the school now working in Texas, U.S.A. and his wife Melt' have given these awards to a teacher or employee of the school with the most outstanding performance during the school year. De la Rosa have institutionalized the awards to provide incentives for the school personnel to strive for outstanding performance and to give due honor and recognition 'for such a performance. Mrs. Subade and Mrs. Catedral are the 12th recipients of the awards. Other recipients are Mr. Victor S. The day's activities will start with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Roman Catholic church at 7:30 a.m.. It will be followed by a parade around the major streets in the poblacion at 8:30 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. will be the laying of the cornerstone of the Alumni Hall. Respective classes will then report to their designated rooms in school where they will have their class socials up to 6:00 p.m. The Homecoming ball will start at 7:00 p.m. at the Cabatuan Covered Gym. Last canvassing of the Search for Alumni Muse '98 will start at 8:00 p.m. Coronation of Alumni Muse '98 and Culminating Program will start at 11:00 p.m. Modern and Ballroom dancing will immediately follow until the wee hours of the morning of April 13. Students join Damath century match Four students of the school joined the Damath Century Match jointly sponsored by the Department of Education, Cultural and Sports, Department of Science and Technology and the Bato-Balani Foundation at Capin National High School, Roxas City on January 7-9. The delegates were Ruben Niniano 1-A, Ariel Baluso 2-A, Lorene Apelo, 3-A and Jonah Jane Esmaya 4-A. They were coached by Miss Estefania P. Sampiano, Mr. Julio J. Villalon and Mrs. Delia S. Bayoneta. The tandem of Baluso and EsmUa ranked fifth while Niniano and Apelo landed in the sixth place. Damath is an innovative game of the popular `dama' designed to facilitate the learning of Mathematics among students. This mathematical board game invented by five-time national awardee Jesus L. Huinda is coined from the Filipino checkerboard game of dama and Mathematics. Subade, Catedral receive teachers' award Mrs. Visluzminda Catedral and Mrs. Ofelia Subade receive the 12th Cash Awards and Plaque of Recognition of Engr. and Mrs. Martin de to Rosa Jr. for Outstanding teacher/employee.
