Kris, as he is familiarly called, is more popular than the intellectual elite of the school. He is indeed well liked in many aspects. Once his name is mentioned, a peculiar person is what comes to every mind. One class day in March, his teachers reprimanded him due to his peculiar behavior. In every room that he entered, his teacher called his attention to his behavior. On his way home from school, the unpleasant remarks of his teachers kept on ringing in his head. He then asked himself, "Am I that undesirable?" While reflecting on the remarks of his teachers, he was suddenly bumped by a vehicle from nowhere. He was brought to the hospital but his thoughts were still focused on his teachers. Moments later, he fainted. Seconds became minutes and minutes became hours. Kris opened his eyes and surprisingly he found himself sitting on a long wooden bench, together with a man wearing a long white cloak. That man was familiar to him. Kris met him before but he could not recall who he was. "Where am I?" Kris asked. The man flashed a cordial smile and replied, "You are in your perfect time in your future." "Future?" Kris asked. "Yes, come along with me for there are eminent people you have to brush elbow with and be acquainted with." They walked together in a place where problems do not exist, where everything is perfect. The man reads a notice, "We are in Cabatuan City, the city of intellectual people". The two walked towards the gate of Kris' Alma Mater, Cabatuan International University – an international school of Harvard University standards. The university broke the record of many prominent universities in Asia, for having been consistently evaluated as a topnotch university for seven years. In the administration building, they met Superintendent Tommy Leo Losbahes and his better-half Ma. Liza Bernardo, owner of the most luxurious vessel that can traverse the Atlantic Ocean in few hours. Walking their way to the English Department, they came across Prof. Rhea Joy C. Abordo. Proceeding to the Science Department, they met Prof. Lily Jean Sumbilla, while in the Mathematics Department was Prof. Kathy Jane Licera and in the Filipino Department, Prof. Febe Mana-ay. As the clock continued to tick, the two made their way to Cabatuan Medical Center, a medical institution that is renowned for its complete and hi-tech facilities. The man told Kris that the President of the Philippines was there doing a civic action. 'Approaching, Kris and the man met His Excellency President Kevin G. Montoya and his captivating First Lady, Dr. Marie Antionette Galagate, M.D., the proprietor of the aforementioned hospital. Working in the hospital were world-renowned medical practitioners namely Dr. Ann Christine Alviar, Dr. Sunshine Rae Fajardo, Dr. Zoe Paniza, and Dr. Josefa Vistavilla. The civic action of the president was simulcast in several international television networks and broadcast by prominent media personalities, Althea June Biaoco and the intrepid Mark Archer Balberde during their late afternoon program, "May extra na May extra pa!" The TV station was owned by the celebrated Crisel Daguison and her hubby Miguel Tagamtam, a business tycoon. Several members of the cabinet were also present to reinforce the presidential humanitarian project. There were Gen. Angelo Reyes, Secretary of National Defense; Dr. Dee Gomez, -Secretary of Health; and Annalisa Celendro, Secretary of Tourism. Prominent members of the judiciary were also present to give gifts to the impoverished patients. They were Supreme Court Justices Riza June Maquilado, Noemi Apistar and Rashelle Tormon. The three lady justices looked very respectable and dignified. They gave the GLOW april 2002 37 the Philippines international fame due to their extraordinary expertise in jurisprudence. After the heartwarming activity, everybody proceeded to the 5-star hotel which is a 25-storey building owned by a business tycoon Joan Guevarra and managed by Rowell Morata. The presidential entourage was given a VIP treatment. A sumptuous lunch consisting of several dishes cooked by a world-class chef Jonathan Madrid was served to the president and his party. As part of the reception for the president, a program was held. One of the highlights of the program was ramp modeling. The program started with a prayer led by His Grace, Most Rev. Msgr. Romeo Calero Jr., archbishop of Jaro. Standing aside the archbishop is a Carmelite nun, Sister Emy Pedrola. The opening prayer was followed by the singing of the national anthem led by an internationally acclaimed singer, Neny Dawn Jover. Accompanying the singing of the national anthem was a world-famous band whose members included Ruel Alejo, Jenia Sablon, and Zaire Brandes. The band had two soloists, Carol Ruivivar and Arbe John Tiongson. Then the ramp modeling started. Several models took turns in walking on the stage. Among the models were the tall, dark and handsome, Ruffy Casianan, the alluring Wella Alde, the gorgeous Michelle Albarillo, the dashing Mark Lee Castor, and the i6 #~" Jil_ Sheryl Mah. the program was a song "Superwoman" sung by a fast-rising singing group composed of Nelein Mae Baticados, Cheryl Estoiano and Mary Rhyne Tormon. The program ended with a dance performed by Rated-A dance group, the M16 dancers, composed of Jackord Sonia, Rosemarie Gazo, Alvin Floyd Puga, Shiela Mae Remata, Andrew Aguero, Maricel Pedrola, Joan Vila, Hiljohn Macadag-um and Ellen Mae Talamor. Before the sun set, Kris and the man proceeded to the nearby Cabatuan Arts Center where the Grammy Awards ceremony was held. Architect Adrian Novillas designed the magnificent building while Engr. Ian Jan Azin supervised the construction of the edifice. One by one, the nominees for the different categories of the Awards were called by the program hosts, Miss Universe Aileen Bastiero and movie director Henley Puga who directed the award-winning movie, "Harry and Peter" based on a novel written by Nobel Prize winner, Shiela Mae Monegro. When night fell, the duo decided to dine in an Italian restaurant, managed by Romydith Cata. The eatery was located near the Cabatuan City International Airport. While eating, they saw pilots of different international airline companies. They were Von Kristoffer Pinero, Jonathan Gayanoche, and John Benedict Arcos. Also inside the restaurant were stewards and stewardesses. They were Richard Beso, Aileen Aguero, Anna Lou Lopez, Leah Mae Dominguez, and Ma. Theresa Ballador. In going out of the restaurant, the duo saw a landing plane. Out came soldiers from Mindanao after accomplishing their mission of pulverizing 'the Abbu Sayyaf. The group of soldiers was led by Gen. Mark Anthony Garrido, Col. Armie Artieda, Capt. Clint Vincent Emperado, and Maj. Febe Rose Bedua. Still continuing their tour of the place, Kris and the man rode in a taxi with a built-in television. The TV set, at that time, focused on a newscast that featured a successful seaman Carlo Yap who was just married to a celebrated inventor Meriliza Binueza, the inventor of the h i g h I y modernized cellphone. The news also announced that Engr. John Federick Caballero, with the help of Engr. Al Marie Rute, was greatly responsible for the construction of a tunnel under the Pacific Ocean, connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Arctic Ocean. Then Kris and the man stopped at a museum where the paintings of Larry Reyes and Carmelo Borcelo were displayed. The former-painted the laughing Mona Lisa while the latter painted rustic scenes. Displayed in one corner of the museum were the discoveries of scientists. Exhibited was a medicine for obesity, discovered by Jay Roseville Dudas. The cloning process devised by Mark Reynan Villasana was also on exhibit. Opposite this corner was another area where the latest mathematical formulas were presented. These were the law of antiphysics formulated by JC Halili and the fourth law of motion by Lorvilyn Amoroso and Marian Lujan. Time was running out. Kris and the man went out of the museum. The man in white cloak clearly intoned, "I must go now.,, Kris replied, "But wait, we have been together for a long time but I haven't known you well. Who are you? Why is it that I met all my fellow Seniors before in a future time but I haven't seen myself? Does it mean that I have no future? Walking away, the man smiled and said, "Just call me Dr. K." "K what?" Kris asked. "Dr. K. . . Dr. Kristofer Rey Alag." The man suddenly vanished. Amused, Kris didn't know what to do: to smile because, despite of his behavior he still has a future, or to cry. He scratched his eyes to be sure he was not dreaming. As he opened his eyes, he found himself lying on a white bed in a hospital. Kris told himself, "I must have been dreaming." Then he felt something hard on his palm. He slowly opened his palm and he found a nameplate. Engraved on it is the name of Dr. Kristofer Rey Alag. The models' outfits were designed by couturiers of international caliber, Harold Conlinenle and Roy Bugsad. Another highlight of 38 the GLOW april 2002 CNCHS Members of the Faculty and Staff Rey B.
