GLOW+ `17ie_ SY 2003-2004 A Solemn Concelebrated Mass highlighted the Rosary Rally for Peace. The Parish of San Nicolas de Tolentino in town held a Rosary Rally for Peace on October 26. The rally was the culminating activity of the parish in its observance of the Year of the Holy Rosary. The culminating activity, led by the Barangay Sang Virgen, a religious organization, started with a pilgrimage at 7:00 A.M. The participants began their pilgrimage in five different areas: Tabucan, Tupol Central, Bacan, Tacdangan, and Ayong. The participants, carrying the banners of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, converged at the church and made a Procession around the town plaza. A short program followed at the covered gym in the town plaza. Datu Bienvenido Valenzuela, head of the Barangay Sang Virgen in the parish, presented the delegates to the rally. Rev. Fr. Norberto Tacadao, the parish priest, welcomed all the delegates, Town Mayor Ramon C Yee delivered a message. The Rosary Rally for Peace proper started with the blessing of Rosaries by the parish priest. A Living Rosary then followed. While the Mystery of Light was recited, members of different religious organizations in the SG to build shed To augment the facilities of the school for the greater convenience of students, the Student Government of the school is implementing a new project-the construction of a study shed in front of the Student Government Office near the Social Studies Building.Estimated to cost P80,000 00 more or less, the Proposed project is expected to be functional next school year. The project is financed by the funds of the Student Government. Every student of the school pays, upon enrolment, a Student Government fee of PI0.00. Due to lack of funds to realize fully the project, the officers and advisers of the Student Government appealed to the Parent-Teacher-Community Association (PTCA) of the school to increase the Student Government fee from P10.00 to P20.00. The appeal was approved and the increase will take effect next school year. Aside from the study shed project. the Student Government of the School has been implementing other projects. It has waged a campaign against vandalism. It has promised the school with waste cans to maintain the cleanliness of the School. It is helping the security force of the school in tile maintenance of Peace and order, most especially during school activities. "We have to provide greater comfort and convenience to our fellow students so as to help our school promote quality education," Student Government President Raymund Pula said. parish formed a Living Rosary. Fr. Tacadao represented the Apostles Creed. His parochial vicar, Rev. Fr. Virgilio Permosil, represented the Our Father. The heads of the three Parish Councils -Mr Victor S. Maroma, Dr. Restituta T. Kilayko, and Mrs. Elsie A. Meta - represented the three Hail Mary's. Msgr Andres Sagra, a guest priest, represented the Glory Be. Vice /ice Mayor Ronilo Caspe made a Scripture reading related to the first Mystery of Light. A catechesis on the first mystery followed Twelve parish catechists prayed and represented the one Our Father, ten Hail Mary's and one Glory Be. Sangguniang Sayan member m0er Nestor C. Amoroso made the Scripture reading relevant to the second mystery. Another catechesis on the mystery then follov?ed. Twelve members of Legion of Mary prayed and represented the one Our Father, ten Hail Mary's, and one Glory Be. Former town mayor Eliseo C. Tobias made a Scripture reading pertaining to the third mystery. This was followed by a catechesis on the mystery. Twelve members The Parent-Teacher- Community Association (PTCA) of the school will implement a major project this year - the installation of a water system that supply major buildings in school with water provided by Metro Iloilo Water%vorks District (MIWD) based in Maasin, Iloilo. This was disclosed by Mr. Victor S. Maroma, Office-inCharge of the school, who made representations with the officers of the CNCHS PTCA regarding the water Project. Acting on the appeal of the OIC school administrator, the PTCA headed by Mrs. Rosita R. Umadhay and Mrs. Tita Q. Layador, chairman of the Board of Directors and president, respectively, approved in a formal meeting the proposed project. With the go-signal of the PTCA Board of Directors, Mr. of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate prayed and represented one Our Father, ten Hail Mary's and one Glory Be. Mr. Julyre Rendoque, a lay Eucharistic minister, made a Scripture reading about the fourth mystery. Another catechesis on the mystery was made. Twelve members of the Confraternity of Our Lady of the Miraculous Media! Prayed and represented one Our Father, ten Hail Mary's, and one Glory Be. Mr. Felizardo Vila, Jr., an employee of the local hospital, made a Scripture reading regarding the fifth mystery. A final catechesis was made on the mystery. Tweive members of the Confraternity of Our Mother of PcrPetUai Help prayed and represented one Our Father, Len Hail Mary's. and one Glory Be. Four members of the Apostolate of the Divine Mercy prayed and represented the Hail Holy Queen. A concelebrated Mass climaxed the Peace Rally. It was concelebrated by Fr. Tacadao, Fr. Permosil, and Fr Elmel, Tababa, the archdiocesan Spiritual Director of the Barangay Sang Virgen. Maroma applied with M!WD for water connection. The project will involve connection with the main pipe of MIWD along Serrano Street extension. Water pipe connections will be installed in selected buildings in school due to their strategic location. Estimated to cost the PTCA some P50,000.00, the project is expected to be functional next school year. At present, the main source of water used by the school is a deep well located some 50 meters across the road going to the New Lucena, Iloilo. Water is taken out of the well by an electric motor and passes through pipes connected to various buildings inside the school campus. This ,mater system, serving the school for more than 20 years, has been the Project also of the PTCA of the school. PSYSC sponsors NS EC I;,/. Raymund Pula 4-A The annual National Science Youth and Environment Camp (NSYEC, sponsored by the Philippine Society of Youth Science Camp (PSYSC) will be held on Puerto Calera, Oriental Mindoro from April 1 to 6, 2604.The six-day Science Camp will focus on the important role played by the youth in the enhancement of Science and preservation of the environment. Ten CNCHSians will join the said camp. They are Sheena Marie Brey, Grace Puga, and Mary Angelie Ducasi of IIILavoisier; Angelyn Nandin and Arild Julius Sadava of III-Pythagoras; Mary Jane Italia and Florida Casquejo of 11- Aristotle; Aldwin Leslie Muyuela of II- Descartes; Lene Viane Dalian of I- Newton; and Ray Ann Adelantar of I- Euclid. Two Science teachers, namely Mr. Teddy Gabanite and Mr. Alfredo Carbine, will accompany the participants. Different lectures will be conducted on the said camp. The lectures in Paleontology and Cosmology will be held in Day 1; Geochemistry, Geophysics, and Oceanography lectures are scheduled on Day 2; the lecture on Environmental Geology will be tackled on Day 3; and on the fourth day there will be an educational trip and quiz show finals. The NSYEC is conducted every year to encourage the youth to participate in Science oriented activities to help them shape their future and to engage on experimenting and inventing useful tools to improve our society. This is also one way to lead the students away from vices such as drug addiction. The participation of our school delegation to the NSYEC will not be possible without the help of the parents and all those who in one way or another offeredtheir financial and spiritual support. Search for Model Boy, Girl launched The Values Education department, in cooperation with the Guidance Personnel Services of the school, launched a Search for a Model Boy and a Model Girl for the school year 20032004. According to the guidelines, the search is open to all bonafide students of the school. Each section adviser may recommend a model boy and a model girl, based on the criteria set by the committee, upon consultation with the Values Education teachers, subject teachers, and guidance counselors. The names of the recommendees will be submitted to the Committee on the Search, using the official form. The awards will be given at the end of every grading period during a formal ceremony (For a complete list of awardees for the first grading period, please refer to the Special Features page.: The criteria for various awards are based on desirablevalues reflected in the Student's Report Card. The awards to be given to the recipients are categorized into Most Clean and Neat, Most Obedient, Most Industrious, Most Respectful, Most Cooperative, Most Congenial, Most Responsible, Most Honest, and Most Courteous, and Most Punctual The search aims to encourage students to internalize and to practice desirable values for other people to emulate. The Committee an the Search is chaired by Mr. Dante Roldan, head of the Social Studies and Values Education department of the school. He is assisted by Mrs. Celerina T. Elecanal, Mrs. Milagros C. Azin and Mrs. Nerissa T. Apelo, guidance counselors of the school. ?rovincial Gov't Officials extend financial assistance Three officials of the Iloilo Provincial Government extended financial assistance to Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School. Iloilo Vice Governor Roberto Armada appropriated P 30,000.00 from his discretionary fund for the construction of additional spans of catwalk connecting the school canteen and the agriculture building of the school. On the other hand, two members of the Sangguniang Panglalaivvigan of Iloilo, representing the third congressional district, also gave financial aid to the school. Board Member Vicente Ramirez released from his discretionary fund the amount of P 10,000.00 for the rehabilitation of the room of Mrs. Fe. Casianan in the Social Studies Building. A counterpart of P10,000.00 was appropriated by Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Bienvenido Margarico from his own discretionary fund for further rehabilitation of Mrs Casianans room. The repair work in the room of Mrs. Fe P Casianans, the adviser of II, is a project of 1-1 Homeroom PTCA. The Association is headed by Mr. Eduardo Loberes. The financial aid of Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members Vicente Ramirez and Bienvenido Margarico was facilitated by Mrs. Natividad M.
