The members of the Royal Court were Princess Ma. Vina and Princess Sanshine. The first princess, Ma. Vina Tormon Sablon, is a daughter of Chief Marine Engr. Cruz Sablon and the former Virginia Tormon, an elementary grades teacher. The 14-year old princess is a third year student of Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School, belonging to the Special Science Class. She was consorted by Alfred Ley Genovesa, son of Marine Engr. Alfredo Genovesa and Civil Engr. Felicitas Arcos-Genovesa. He Campus writers... from named a runner-up in editorial writing, English category. Editor-in-chief of 'Ang Sinag' Oscar Recabar was the champion in feature writing (Filipino), and Vincent Roncal, a senior student of the school, ranked second (English). Declared as runners-up in the same category were Feby Carmen, Ma. Fevie Fajardo, Fia Carmela Escuadra, and Ken Hualde. Their English counterparts were Marie Andrea Emmanuelle Urbano, Shyne Mediatrix Salcedo, Shanen Abrasosa, and Julden Greg Barrios as runners-up. In news writing, English category, Kryslyn Alyssa Solacito placed second while Robylee Castor, Chinny Mae Genovesa, and Kristine Gift Madera were runners-up. 'Ang Sinag' staffers led by Feby Carmen, got the second place, and Oscar Recahar and Ma. Theresa Teinda as from page 1 is a junior student of Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School. The second princess, Sanshine Boots Marie Menosa Mailla, is a daughter of Bobby Mailla and the. former Lorna Menosa. The 19-year old Princess is a fourth year student of West Visayas State University where she is pursuing a degree on Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Her consort was Roven Tamorite, son of Roel Tamorite and the former Evelyn Bais. His father is the Punong Barangay of Gines Patag while his mother is a nurse working in Saudi Arabia. page 1 The duo of Mary Ann Velarde and Kryslyn Alyssa Solacito was declared runner-up in the copyreading and headline writing English category. On the other hand, Ma. Theresa Tejada, Robylee Castor, and Arianne Faye Escuadra were runners-up in Filipino. Three staffers of the school emerged as runners-up in sports writing namely Ruthlene Duero, Mae Boribor in English, and Oscar Recabar in Filipino. Winners in the editorial cartooning in Filipino were Jan Ray Hontanar as second placer, and Oscar Recabar as runner-up. Francisco Lo II was also a runner-up in English. The cluster seminar was formally opened by a program held at the Old Library of the school. Mr. Jude Thaddeus I. Iledan, regional English supervisor in-charge of campus iournalism spearheaded the building of the school, using the newly bought multi-media projector. English teachers also prepared review materials for the National Achievement Test (NAT) for all year levels. The Science depart-ment, thru its head Mr. Rodrigo C. Tacay, invited a resource speaker in the person of Mrs. Mindaluz Billena, division science coordinator, who discussed about action research to the teacher participants. On the other hand, Filipino teachers, under the supervision of Mrs. Rebecca Fenis as the department head, constructed questions by year level for 'Tagisan ng Talino'. The questions they prepared will be used for the contest next year. Teachers in the Social Studies and Values Education department were trained on new teaching strategies by Mr. Dante Roldan, the department head. Mathematics teachers prepared budgeted outlay, targets/action plan, and workbooks in Math. The school regained its supremacy in softball after beating its opponent, the Acao National High School. Maintaining its superiority in baseball, the Acao National High School baseballers slugged more points against Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School team. One of the outstanding achievements of the Cabatuan PNP Station is "Sagip Paaralan", a project focused on P. Muyuela Elementary School in Brgy. Jelicuon Lusaya, Cabatuan, Iloilo. Through this project, several facilities of the school were repaired. These included 22 chairs and benches, 3 tables, windows, and roof. Aside from this, the Cabatuan PNP Station personnel conducted 22 home visitations which resulted in the greater trust and confidence of the citizenry in the PNP. next year.
