Our retrospect of the year 2006 will guide us so as to meet the challenges of the year 2007. From the academic point of view, it is indeed rewarding and fulfilling to note that CNCHS reaped a litany of honors from various contests of different levels. These honors have been capped by a prestigious national award garnered by CNCHS as the school with the Most Outstanding School-Based Values Education Program in the Philippines for school year 2006-2007. As regards physical facilities, our school has acquired additional facilities. We have now a covered gym, thanks to Cong. Arthur D. Defensor. Concrete embankments that serve as grandstand at the side of the covered gym have been made possible by the Teachers and Employees Association of the school. A pathway had been constructed in front of the Filipino building, courtesy of Gov. Later he was promoted Principal of Igbaras High School and retired from government service as Principal of Guimbal High School. Indeed, death is one inevitable reality in life. Since all of us will die, we have to do good things while we are still alive so that when we die, we will be remembered by the living, as what the late Fidel M. Ahumada did during his lifetime. May his soul rest in peace! Talking about our living Municipal Government Officials, we are happy to note that they are working together to effect the greater progress and development of Cabatuan. Under the leadership of Mayor Ramon C. Yee, our local government officials keep on improving our town plaza. Additional stalls have been constructed in the public market. Schools embankments that serve as grandstand at the right side of the covered gym. The grandstand could in the barangays are given financial assistance for their improvement. Many other developmental programs and projects are being implemented by our Local Government Unit. The Glow salutes our Municipal Government officials for a good performance! One very laudable project initiated and implemented by Mayor Ramon C. Yee is the Search for Cabatuan Hymn. Though not officially adopted by the Sangguniang Bayan, the winning entry in the search sounds very nationalistic. Our congratulations go to the composer-lyricist of Cabatuan Hymn, Mr. Jesus Pablito Villanueva of Barangay Tiring. As envisioned, the Cabatuan Hymn aims to "enkindle in the hearts of Cabatuananons batuananons the flame of greater love a for Cabatuan and pride in being a Cabatuananon." Indeed, love for our town will motivate every Cabatuananon to serve and to sacrifice for the sake of Cabatuan. (01 Another commendable program of the Municipal Government is "Serbisyo: Espesyal Nga Regalo". Through this program, the services of the Municipal Governemnt are brought to the far-flung Parents! barangays in town. Ateam composed of representatives of the Rural Health Unit, the Municipal Agriculture Office, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, the Municipal Assessor's Office, the Municipal Civil Registrar's Office, the Municipal Treasurer's Office, and the Municipal Engineer's Office annually goes to selected barangays in town and renders varied services. A by-pass road from Barangay Tabucan, passing through the areas behind Ramon Tabiana Memorial Hospital, the Roman Catholic Cemetery, the Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School and ending in Barangay Ayaman will be constructed. The implementation of the project will be jointly undertaken by the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Municipal Government. The realization of the by-pass road project will surely open a new growth area in town. Through several indications, Cabatuan is moving onward. We commend Mayor Ramon C. Yee for leading Cabatuan to greater progress! The"new year 2007 brings new challenges for everyone of us in school. The school administration is being challenged to provide greater meaning and substance to quality education which CNCHS is imparting to its students. The faculty and staff of the school have the challenge of strengthening their commitment to the task of moulding the youth entrusted to their tutelage. All students of the school are being challenged to re-orient their values and attitudes so as to make their quest for secondary education meaningful and fruitful. It is fervently hoped that, with the continuing support of the Local Government Unit, the Alumni Association, the faculty and staff, and the student body of Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School will take the challenges of the new year with fortitude and determination to effect the greater progress and development of CNCHS. May the year 2007 usher in greater progress, honor, and fame for Cabatuan. Community Vignettes pateage lyw. Shelly Jan Halaba ~~ -~
