She also won the 3rd Prize (Bronze Medal) in the 10th Asia Cup Stars of Olympic Math Finals, MTG Competition, also held in Kowloon, Hong Kong, from July 19 to July 22, 2014. Zaphie is the daughter of Rogelio Sorongon (Amerang, Cabatuan) and Pearl Joy Cuadras Sorongon (Gaub, Cabatuan). Rogelio graduated from Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School (CNCHS) in 1993. Pearl Joy belonged to CNCHS Batch 1992; she continued her studies in Manila. The family resides in Brgy Gaub, Cabatuan. Zaphie's grandparents are Rogelio Sorongon Sr. & Ophelia Roldan, and Rufino Cuadras & Adelia Angelo. She is a Grade 3 pupil at the Casa Bambini Santa Barbara Learning Center. Her coaches are Maricon P. Sontillanosa and Floren Grace S. Posadas (School Directress/Coach).
