Authored by a U.S. soldier assigned at Cabatuan around the time the book was being written.
That soldier, Capt. Bordman, was also teaching English an hour daily at a local Cabatuan school [Link (page 73)].
"Manual de Dialogos" contains translations of common phrases from English and Spanish to Visayan.

Maragtas (Barter of Panay), 1854 version
English translation of the 1854 version of the Story of the Maragtas. The original writing in local dialect was written in Janiuay Iloilo in 1854 when the author was assigned as Fiscal of the Church of Janiuay.
