VE program receives national award
The Values Education Program of the school received three prestigious awards as the Most Outstanding School-Based Values Education Program in the whole Philippines, Finalist in the 2006 National Search for Model Kabatang PSEP Organization, and for being the First Magulang PSEP organized in the whole Philippines.
In behalf of the school, Mr. Dante G. Roldan, Officer-in-Charge of CNCHS, together with selected officers, teachers and advisers of the Magulang-PSEP of the school received the plaques and certificates of recognition given during the 16th National Values Education Convention held at the Concorde Hotel, Baguio City on December 1, 2006.
The officers of Magulang- PSEP of the the school, Pastor Andrew Burao, Mr. Reynaldo C. Nandin, Mrs. Elena Mandarin, and Mrs. Annie Tobias were elected to the National Magulang-PSEP Executive Board for the top positions of president, vice-
respectively, while Mrs. Milagros C. Azin, Mr. Jeremias Azin, and Mr. Andresito Navarro as directors.
Likewise, OIC Roldan was awarded the Outstanding Diploma in Values Development (DVD) Graduate for showing exemplary leadership in the implementation of the Values Education Program for the last three years (SY 20032006).
Another three teachers in the Values Education department of the school namely, Mrs. Milagros C. Azin, Values Education Coordinator; Mrs. Celerina T. Elecanal, Master Teacher I, and Mrs. Ma. Josefina Gabaldon, Values Education teacher were recipients of the Loyalty Award during the 2006 Regional VE Convention held at Mambukal Resort, Murcia, Negros Occidental on November 10-11, 2006. Their dedication, exemplary performance and hard labor in implementing the VE Program of the school paid off.

Janice Pedregosa Baylon was crowned as the town fiesta queen during the coronation ceremonies held on September 10 at the town plaza's covered gymnasium. The coronation ceremonies started with a torch parade at 8:00 p.m. from the residence of the queen in Brgy.
A project beneficial to students and teachers of the school has been effected in CNCHS during school year 2005-2006.

The municipal mayor, Hon. Ramon C. Yee, welcomed all the guests to the coronation program. He also did the honor of officially proclaiming the fiesta queen.

Situated at the right side of the gym and adjacent to the road in front of the administration building are rows of concrete bleachers. The cemented bleachers are the projects of the Teachers and Employees Association (TEA) and Senior Council (SC) of the school.
The construction of rows of bleachers near the right wing of the stage of the gym was financed by the Senior Council and that of the

The TEA is chaired by Mr. Lope B. Apelo, Jr, a MAPEH teacher of the school.
Mr. Joselito Bastiero was then the adviser of the Senior Council when the construction of the cemented bleachers started.

Former mayor
passes away
A former mayor who also became former vice mayor of the town died on November 19, 2006 at the age of 91 years old.
Fidel M. Ahumada peacefully passed away due to a lingering illness and old age. He breathed his last in the presence of his wife, the former Loreto Pueyo, and his children in his residence in Huesca Street.
To honor the late Local Chief Executive, Mayor Ramon C. Yee issued an Executive Order No. 2006-19 directing all government agencies stationed in Cabatuan, and all public and private schools in town to raise the national flag at half mast from December 4-10, 2006.
On the day of his burial on December 10, 2006, the deceased was honored in a necrological program sponsored by the Local Government Unit. Five speakers

The year 2006 brought prestigious awards to the Municipality of Cabatuan. The town garnered two national awards and two regional awards, aside from other commendations and citations.
Mrs. Decidera S. Bermejo, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, was chosen as the Most Outstanding Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer in the Philippines for 2006. She received the national award on October 3, 2006 in Manila Hotel, Manila from the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc.
Another national award garnered by Cabatuan was reaped for the town by the municipal station of the Philippine National Police. The
BERMEJO HUESCA Cabatuan Municipal Police Station was adjudged as the Best Municipal Police Station in the Philippines in the field of Police-Community Relations for calendar year -2006. P/S Insp. CONCRETE BLEACHERS. The bleachers serve also as concrete embankment that supports the road in front of the Administration building from soil erosion.
